 The Guild of Health Writers’ fourth Zoom ‘Spotlight On the Author’ event on September 20 will be an interview with Laurel Alexander, and an excerpt reading from her new book, Integrative Wellness Coaching A Handbook for Therapists and Counsellors, moderated by Guild committee member Jacqui Thornton.

Published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers, the book, part of the Singing Dragon series, is intended for complementary and mainstream health professionals and counsellors, providing theory, insights, best practice, case studies and CPD activities in order to deepen their knowledge and experience.

Integrative wellness is about working in collaboration and in partnership between the professional and the patient. The book helps this collaboration by exploring the co-creation of personalised care plans, effective coaching skills and cognitive-behavioural interventions including motivational coaching for patient activation, as well as flexible ways to provide wellness coaching.

Laurel, Fellow of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists, has 20 years of experience as a complementary healthcare professional. She is the founder and Director of Studies for ‘Wellness Professionals at Work.’ She has designed and delivered accredited courses Fast-Track Diploma in Wellness Coaching Skills, Advanced Diploma in Wellness Coaching Skills, Diploma in Resilience Coaching Skills, Integrated Diploma in Resilience and Wellness Coaching Skills, Diploma in Life Coaching Skills, Diploma in Holistic Life Coaching Skills.

She will be interviewed by Jacqui and there will be an excerpt reading and time for questions.
